This is a discussion forum for youth workers created by youth workers. The goal is to help each other. Potentially this blog will cover topics such as prayer, training, preparation, leadership, parent involvement, and returning home from trips.
Essentially, we want to equip and inspire each other to use missions as a catalyst for the discipleship of young people.
The reason we got into youth work is the calling and passion to see young people become fully devoted followers of Christ. We know Jesus called and sent us to make disciples.
That is why we do what we do in ministry. From disciple nows, to summer camps, to mid-week services. Discipleship is why we awkwardly spend lunch in high school cafeterias. It is our heart beat. It is the vision of our ministries to youth.
How can mission trips fit into that passion for discipleship? How does that work?
For a youth worker, trips take a lot of energy, time, and resources. How can we make it all count?
That is essentially what we are going to explore together. We are going to share questions, stories, successes and challenges.
